Student Counseling Services (SCS) is a free resource, available to all Granite State College students, in partnership with APS Healthcare. APSHelpLink is your one-stop resource, available when and where you need it. Whether you are dealing with a day-to-day question or a bigger life issue, APSHelpLink provides you with tools and information to address life’s pressing concerns. APSHelpLink is anonymous, confidential, and secure. Explore it any time of day, any day of the week.
The GSC Student Counseling Services are available to assist you with personal concerns affecting school, work, or home life; 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week.
Confidentiality is the cornerstone of the SCS. All discussions between you and your SCS professional are confidential. Information regarding your contact with the SCS cannot be released without your written consent, except by court order, in situations of imminent threat of harm to self or others, or in situations of abuse (such as child or elder abuse).
Issues the SCS may help with include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Anxiety and stress
- Relationships or family conflicts
- Parenting concerns
- Negative feelings such as anxiety, depression, confusion, or stress
- Grief or loss issues
- Life transitions
- Crisis situations
- Dealing with alcohol or other substance abuse
- Any issue causing you concern
Up to six counseling sessions are available for any concerns affecting students. Students may speak with a professional counselor by phone, or the Student Counseling Services may provide a referral to see a local counselor at no cost to you.
